London, Thomas Edlin, 1725. In 2 °. Figured front door engraved in copper by Grisoni based on a design by B. Baron, typographic mark on the title page repeated in the colophon, full-page portrait of Boccaccio engraved by Aubert, elegant binding of the period in calfskin with double gilt frame on the plates, back to 5 nerves to enclose compartments decorated in gold, title in gold on red gusset, worn caps and zippers, red spray cuts.

Specialist Notes

Famous London faithful reproduction of the Florentine Giuntina of 1527, considered the best edition of the Decameron; also faithfully reproduced the Giunti typographic mark on the title page and colophon, preface by Paolo Rolli. Leg, 186.
