Venezia, Simone Occhi, 1743-'45. In 4°. Sei tomi in 7 volumi (il tomo V è diviso in due parti). Fregi calcografici ai frontespizi, fioriture, al primo volume le ultime 150 cc. presentano vistose mancanze al margini che progressivamente interessano il testo con gravi perdite, legature rigide coeve.
Herman Boerhaave (Voorhout, 31 dicembre 1668 – Leida, 23 settembre 1738) è stato un medico, chimico e botanico olandese. Viene considerato il fondatore dell'insegnamento clinico e del moderno ospedale. Il suo principale risultato fu la dimostrazione della relazione tra sintomi e lesioni. La prima edizione delle Institutionae medicae venne stampata a Leida nel 1708. La presente edizione si basa su quella curata da Haller a Gottinga nel 1740, dove il fitto commento al margine inferiore rappresenta un indubbio arricchimento al testo base di Boerhaave.
