Vignetta incisa in rame da Frezza sul frontespizio, tavole architettoniche calcografiche fuori testo numerate 1-86, mancano le tavole 33 e 84, sono presenti inoltre le tavole 34 bis, 42 bis, 43 bis, 57 bis e ter, di Bonanni, Frezza, Specchi, Westerhout, S.Bartoli, lievi fioriture, alcune carte brunite, piccolo strappo sul margine bianco di 2 carte e all'angolo inferiore delle prime 3, legatura coeva in pergamena rigida, dorso a 5 nervi, autore e titolo manoscritti, tagli a spruzzo, difetti e abrasioni, comparto superiore del dorso lacunoso. Timbro di appartenenza al frontespizio in fine; tassello cartaceo di biblioteca Zappalà Asmundo al piede del dorso. Terza edizione aumentata di 7 tavole, di un'opera importantissima per la storia della costruzione della Basilica di S. Pietro, «classica per dottrina e per l'accuratezza d'esecuzione» (Cicognara 2780).
