Specialist Notes

Interesting work in 3 parts. & nbsp;
In 1715 Manfredi completed his "Ephemerides motuum coelestium" in two volumes, based on Cassini's still unpublished tables , his predecessor to the chair of astronomy in Bologna. Ephemeris were to be used & nbsp; for practical astronomy, and were of unusual extent and practicability. They included tables of the crossing of the meridians of the planets, tables of the eclipses of Jupiter's satellites and of the conjunction of the moon and main stars, as well as maps of the regions of the earth affected by solar eclipses. The ephemerides were preceded by a volume of instructions including tables that were reprinted by Eustachio Zanotti in 1750. & nbsp;
