Specialist Notes

Third edition of this lucky astronomical manual, dedicated to the famous Sienese rhyming Laudomia Forteguerri de Colombini, who became one of the most popular of the 16th century. The maps contained in this celestial atlas depict & nbsp; all Ptolemaic constellations and are the first stellar reproductions devoid of the usual mythological figures, and & nbsp; letters are used to mark the stars. Piccolomini was convinced that scientific culture should no longer be the exclusive prerogative of writers and should be made available to a wide public. This work is aimed at & nbsp; mainly to a female audience, the author can be considered as the creator of a new literary genre. & nbsp; & nbsp;
