Piazzola, in the Place of the Virgins, 1686. In 12th. 2 tomes. With 59 full-page engraved copper plates, including the 2 front doors, in beards, rare intact files, sporadic reddening, coeval binding in cardboard, with title within a paper insert on the spine, slight defects.
Rare edition printed in the typography annexed to the villa of the Venetian nobleman Marco Contarini. The latter was named "Luoco delle Vergini" as it possessed the reputation of a pleasure residence for the Venetian nobility. The typography was active from 1684 and in a few years it published various works including some classics that met with some success (including an architecture by Scamozzi). It seems that the same typography was run solely by women.
