Specialist Notes

First edition in Latin. Giovanni & nbsp; Bracesco (Braceschi according to some) (1482-1555 c.ca) had the merit of arousing and reviving the interest and scientific and philosophical debate on ancient alchemy in the Renaissance through this work and writings such as The wood of life (1545) and The Exposition of Geber filosopho (1546). In the Dialogi the author makes the Boccaccio and mythological figure of Demorgon and the Arab alchemist Geber talk to each other to explain his theories on that science: he exposes the theoretical principles of alchemy, a science whose is that of the transformation of the inferior and vile metals to a pure higher level & nbsp; through the search for the philosopher's stone. The work was very popular, as evidenced by the reprints and various translations. & Nbsp;
