Rare first edition. & Nbsp; The Dominican friar G.Battista Audiffredi (Nice 1714-1794 Rome), a writer of vast culture ranging from natural sciences to astronomy, passing through the study of sacred disciplines and classical languages (Latin, Greek, Hebrew) it is to be counted among the most distinguished bibliographers of the eighteenth century. From 1759 he became Prefect & nbsp; of the “Casanatense”, a very prestigious public library, which he further enriched with precious and rare works. Passionate astronomer, he was responsible for the foundation of an astronomical cabinet in a loggia of the Convent of Minerva where he conducted numerous and important observations.
