Published by G. Civelli and Comp. And dedicated by the same to the Illustrious Italian Geographic Adriano Balbi, Imperial Councilor in the service of S.M.I.R.A. Milan, Civelli, 1845. 28 sheets including the title/title page mounted on detached white canvas, which together form a map of Italy (size 196 x 250 cm), borders colored in watercolour. The plates are preserved in a contemporary hardcover box.
Specialist Notes
Very rare original edition of this important map, the largest existing one drawn by Civelli and Valmaggino and engraved by Castelli, Zuccoli and Pavesi, updating and expanding that of Rizzi Zannoni published in 1821.
