Specialist Notes

Pierre Garnier (1720-1800) received master in 1742. His patrons were the Duchess of Mazarin and the Marquis de Marigny (Abel-François Poisson de Vandières), brother of Madame de Pompadour and Director General of the King's Buildings, Gardens, Arts, Academies and Manufactures, with whom he has a rather extensive written correspondence
