black patina forged iron blade with external ribs. The blade has a series of holes and incisions shaped according to the group motifs. A fretworked copper disk is inserted in the center of the blade.
Wooden handle with signs of prolonged use. Period patina.
Prestige object.
This is a widespread pattern in the western region of Congo also made by the Luba and Songye groups.
