The body, in a frontal position, is depicted with open arms, an unusual representation that is difficult to carve.The entire surface of the wood is covered with a thick, crusted coating of a dark colour, which is characteristic of the oldest works. The feet have been consumed by prolonged contact with the damp earth of the underground family shrine where the sacred sculptures were kept.
