Round, rifled, 45/70 cal. barrel (very clean bore, still visible rifling), with precision rear sight, foresight and marks at the base, bolt marked "US MODEL 1873"; serial number "149xxx"; forward spring lock marked "US SPRINGFIELD 1873" and with American eagle; wooden full stock, with rosette engraved on one side and iron mounts; complete with ramrod and the rare wooden Metcalfe experimental cartridge belt for eight bullets.
