XIX Century Photography deserves to be much more appreciated among collectors. Despite the lack of information (including those related to the various types of printing that often represent a fascinating world to be discovered), great credit goes to the printing techniques thanks to which these wonderful images have come down to us often in perfect conditions.

Another important aspect concerns the way in which today we read these photographs, almost all coming from the numerous professional studios that were dedicated to the documentation of the territory and to portraiture, having as main clients travelers eager to take home a story of the places visited.

How many images today take on a different meaning in our eyes: on the one hand, in fact, they help to reconstruct the evolution of the urban and natural landscape and on the other hand they allow us to investigate with an anthropological gaze on the clothes, postures, settings of an entire epoch.
