Semi-rigid skull covered in black cloth (the structure damaged at the top) with gilded brass regulation mounts. Complete with yellow cords and orange-coloured horsehair (for the great sealing). Minor damage to the nape-guard and the brim. Sweat-band with signs of use, cloth lining with stamps, mark "INSPECTOR GENERAL SD... / N.Y. INSPECTED 1898". Inside mark of a New York manufacturer.
