Curved, single-and-false-edged blade, with wide fuller at the centre, featuring on one side a royal coat of arms with the inscription "Konstytucya dzien Maya 1791"(date of the promulgation of the Polish Constitution, which was the first nation in Europe to adopt a modern constitution and the second after the United States); on the opposite side an engraving of a mounted hussar with a sword drawn in the inscription "Vivat Wolnosc Polska" and a trophy. Brass hilt with three loop-guards, long and smooth Polish cap. Wooden grip covered with leather and brass wire binding. Iron scabbard with two suspension rings on bands.
