Information

Austria
length 97 cm.
Curved, single-and short-false-edged blade, with fuller for most of its length, featuring fine engravings on both sides at the forte. On the right side: a heraldic shield surmounted by a crown, a lance or standard, an eagle with open wings; all surrounded by racemes and floral decorations. On the left side: two specular trophies featuring helmets, cannons and flags framing the central frieze, consisting of an eagle similar to the other one. On the back marked "G. FISCHER". Austrian-type iron hilt. Provided with open work for the sword knot, palm decoration on the parry side, widened at the quillon and provided with a stirrup guard. A second guard, above the first and similarly shaped, can be rotated outwards and remains open thanks to the stud mounted on the spring; the mechanism is well working. Long cap carved with leaf on the back. Leather-covered grip. Iron scabbard with two lugs, missing mouthpiece.
