Robby Krieger , born in Los Angeles on January 8, 1946, is an American guitarist and singer-songwriter, best known as a founding member of the legendary rock band The Doors .
In 1965, while attending UCLA, Krieger met Jim Morrison , a charismatic poet with a dream: to form a rock band. Together with Ray Manzarek (keyboards) and John Densmore (drums), they formed The Doors.
Krieger is the Doors' primary songwriter, writing or co-writing most of their hits.
With his unique and innovative style, characterized by jazz, blues and flamenco influences, Krieger helped define the Doors' distinctive sound, creating iconic riffs for songs such as "Light My Fire" , "Love Me Two Times" and "Touch Me" .
Robby Krieger is considered one of the most influential guitarists of his generation. His unique style and creativity helped make The Doors one of the most iconic rock bands of all time.
