The War of the Roses is a 1989 film directed by Danny DeVito, based on the novel of the same name by Warren Adler, and starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.
Turner has appeared in a number of successful films, including Romancing the Stone (1981), Romancing the Stone (1984), Prizzi's Honor (1985), The Accidental Tourist (1988), and The Virgin Suicides (1999), winning two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for Romancing the Stone and Prizzi's Honor . She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance in Peggy Sue Got Married (1986).
