Jerry Lewis was one of Hollywood's most influential and beloved comedians, recognized for his unique talent, his exuberant style and his ability to make people laugh with his slapstick humor. Jerry Lewis was born Joseph Levitch on March 16, 1926, in Newark, New Jersey. Raised in a family of entertainers, he began his career on stage at a young age, performing in variety shows and vaudeville. He met Dean Martin, with whom he formed a legendary comedy duo in the 1940s and 1950s, which made them famous around the world. Film Career After his success with Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis embarked on a solo career in the world of cinema, becoming one of the most prolific and innovative actors and directors of his time. He wrote, directed and starred in a series of comedies that have won over audiences and critics, including "The Wizard of Hazzard", "The Nutty Professor", "The Village Idiot" and especially "Cinderella", a parody of the classic Cinderella story, which has become a classic of his comedy.
His comedic style, characterized by physical gags, exaggerated facial expressions and a unique voice, made his films irresistibly funny and established Jerry Lewis as one of the most influential figures in the history of film comedy.
