Specialist Notes

Reference 4178 was in production from 1940 until the mid ‘60s, and is one of the most famous and sought-after vintage chronograph made by Vacheron Constantin. It is a very diverse model, iconic thanks to its oversized 36mm case, an unconventional characteristic for its era, which wears the wrist even larger with its distinctive teardrop lugs, a well-known Vacheron Constantin design code. The watch in this catalogue features a one-of-a-kind patina, with the original champagne dial turned to a head-turning two-tone nuance of champagne and orange.
