Specialist Notes

Pierre Louÿs, born Pierre Felix Louis (Ghent, 10 December 1870 – Paris, 6 June 1925), was a French poet and writer. In 1891 he founded the literary magazine La conque, which published works by Parnassian and symbolist artists; masters such as Mallarmé, Moréas, Leconte de Lisle himself or the more famous Verlaine, together with other young poets unknown at that time such as Valéry, Gide or Louis himself.
