The book of virginsis a collection of four stories (The virgins; Sentimental fable; In the absence of Lanciotto; Ad altare Dei). This is the poet's first literary experience in the field of narrative prose, after the poetic collections Primo nere (1879) and Canto novo (1881): Terra virgine< /i> (1882) was in fact a collection of sketches on the theme of Abruzzo.
