Second eighteenth-century edition of the important work by Bernardo Davanzati, a famous Florentine scholar and historian, represents a compendium of the work "Schism of England" originally published in 1602 and 1638. In this work Davanzati offers a translation and a summary of the work of the Jesuit Nicolò Sandero, focusing on the causes of the conflict between the Papacy and the English monarchy, attributing them mainly to the dissolute behavior of Henry VIII and the English nobility, which caused the break with the Catholic Church.
