In Naples, at Pietro Palombo, 1743. 8th, pp. (14)-XVIII-572-(4). Contemporary binding in full parchment, calligraphic title on the spine, slight defects. Light browning, slight foxing, halo on the upper margin of some papers.
Very rare original edition of this important work by Broggia (Naples 1698 - 1767), a famous scholar of political economy with a troubled existence which led him, for his ideas, to also suffer proscription on the island of Pantelleria. Remarkable, above all, is the part dedicated to the analysis of the tax system, for which Broggia puts forward reasonable proposals for tax reform on the basis of criteria of absolute fairness in relation to the actual ability to pay, relieving the burden on the poorest classes.
