Specialist Notes
The engraving reproduces, in the same direction, but in a different technique, a plate from the series of twenty woodcuts depicting the Life of the Virgin by Dürer, published in Nuremberg in 1511. Raimondi burin engraved seventeen of the twenty woodcuts of the Life of the Virgin.
