Frontispiece with the portrait of the author in the first volume unsigned, 92 plates finely engraved in copper, each protected by tissue paper, from two different suites, 46 plates after Cipriani, Cochin, Eisen, Greuse, Monnet et Moreau (2 redone) , extracted from the Italian edition for Baskerville (Bimingham, 1773) and the other 46 after Cochin come from the 4° edition which appeared in 1775 published by Brunet, scattered foxing and light browning, coeval marbled calfskin binding with gold-embossed decoration , three fillets to frame the plates, on the smooth back green inserts with title and friezes, gilt edges, some scratches. Ex libris on the verso, "Duc de Vallombrosa".
