Paris, Deroy, 1796. In 4th. 256x195mm. Engraved and colored title page, 50 plates engraved in aquatint hors texte by Grasset de Saint-Sauveur of Labrousse, colored at the time, blond calfskin binding with gold decorations on the plates and spine. Ex libris on the verso of the famous doctor Jacques Coster (1795-1868).
Specialist Notes
FIRST EDITION, in a fine copy WITH COLOR PLATES. Colas mentions that the plates exist in both black and color. Grasset de Saint-Sauveur, draftsman and watercolourist, was also a diplomat and writer.
