Paris, chez Florentin Delaulne, Étienne Ganeau et al., 1722. In 2°, 428 x 275 mm. Nearly 1400 copperplate engravings for which more than forty engravers were engaged, out of text: title page by Sébastien Le Clerc, portrait of the dedicatee, the Maréchal d'Estrées, by Jean Audran by Nicolas de Largillière, 1394 plates including 3 folded and 242 double page, slight redness. WONDERFUL COEVA BINDING IN SPONGED CALFSKIN, with spine with 7 raised bands enclosing gilt-decorated compartments, title on the spine in gilt letters on a red label, in the center of the plates, the splendid coat of arms of Manuel Pinto de Fonseca (1681-1773), Portuguese nobleman, Grand Master of the Order of Malta from 1741 until his death.
