Specialist Notes
Famous Giuntina edition. The layout of the edition resumes the 1513 joint, with the commentary by Fra Giocondo and the text by Sesto Giulio Fiorentino, the form of the page however being renewed and the errors corrected, while the matrix for the wood engravings remains the same. Giovanni Giocondo of Verona (1433-1515), a Dominican friar, was one of the first supporters of an antiquarian taste and was nominated in 1513 to replace Bramante in the works of St. Peter's in Rome.
