Specialist Notes
Very rare original edition (a second edition was published in 1904 and a third in 1909). Before the founder of futurism , in which we can already see the first blank verses and those figures that will characterize Futurist literature, embellished by Marinetti's splendid autograph dedication to Arturo Labriola, an eminent figure of a Naples of yesteryear. Salaris "History of Futurism", p. 20: “The epic poem in free verse tells of the ascent to heaven by a stormy sea; will to power, warlike aggressiveness, Promethean titanism of romantic derivation, visionary symbolism and Wagnerian orchestration are its characteristics. Two quotations, from Dante on the "defective syllogisms" and from Poe on the eloquence of the analogy, imply from this first proof a vision of art as a cult of hallucination against positivist rationalism". Example with beards, well preserved.
