Napoleon's personal cartographer and his close military collaborator so as to participate in the most important strategic decisions, Louis Albert Ghislain Bacler D'Albe (Saint Pol sur Ternoise 1761-Sevres 1824) was a French general, illustrious battle painter and one of the most distinguished cartographers of his time. On his maps all the geographical and military information was perfectly summarized. & nbsp; "Equipped with a prestigious structure, d'Albe was able to make the panorama of the places where the Emperor intended to fight ... "So wrote the historian Frederic Masson. Reorganizing the French military cartography, he created the first complete map of all of Italy in 1: 256.000 scale, drawn on about 56 sheets called Carte du théatre des campagnes de Bonaparte en Italie e the first homogeneous map of Europe on a scale of 1: 100.000, called Carte de l'Empereur, & nbsp;
