Venice, Girolamo Scotto, 1566. In 4th. 2 parts in one volume, typographical marks on the title pages, slight browning. SPECTACULAR BINDING in full rigid parchment with refined enamels and silver decorations at the center of the plates, at the clips, at the ribs, at the tips, specimen commissioned and decorated for the house of < b> Saxony , whose weapons appear on the lower plate. The refined decorations were made by & nbsp; J ohann Melchior Dinglinger & nbsp; ( Biberach an der Riß , & nbsp; December 26 & nbsp; 1664 & nbsp; - & nbsp; Dresden , & nbsp; March 6 & nbsp; 1731 ) famous & nbsp; goldsmith & nbsp; German , & nbsp; became court jeweler of & nbsp; Augustus the Strong .

The Ecatommiti , & nbsp; l a collection of short stories that Giraldi Cinzio had worked on since his youth, it was printed for the first time in 1565 in Mondovì. They are a collection of & nbsp; one hundred and thirteen short stories arranged in ten days. & Nbsp; Some of the short stories & nbsp; present the same story of seven Giraldian tragedies, even if it is not possible to establish precisely whether the narrative or the theatrical text was composed first: yes is about & nbsp; Orbecche, Altile, Antivalomeni, Selene, Eufimia, Epitia, Arrenopia < / span> . From & nbsp; stories Ecatommiti & nbsp; also come the plots of two Shakespearean tragedies < / b>: & nbsp; Otello < i> & nbsp; comes from the seventh story of the third day, & nbsp; Measure by measure & nbsp; from the fifth story of the eighth day, which tells the story of Epitia .
