Splendid dogal commission for Francesco Querini, dated Candia 6 May 1577 but with documents that reach up to 10 June 1638, 170 x 240 mm., 38 parchment sheets finely decorated with phytomorphic festoons, drop caps, coats of arms, St. Mark's Lions, marbled borders etc. ., in the final part the decoration is often not completed and there are only the pencil marks for the miner / decorator, the binding is an EXTRAORDINARY EXAMPLE OF CUSTOMS COMMISSION WITH BUILT-IN COMPARTMENTS, called "coffered", bearing , in the central room, the & nbsp; Lion of San Marco in moleca , that is depicted frontally and crouching, in a position reminiscent of the crab, & nbsp; " moleca" & nbsp ; precisely in the Venetian dialect, the Querini coat of arms on the lower plate, defects and shortcomings on the caps and on the tips of the plates.

Doge commission issued by Candia on May 6, 1577, in favor of Francesco Quirini "de messer Marco", "... pretender to be proved by that Maggior Conseglio, according to the usual fact we have given it M. Francesco a copy of the scriptures , to it pertinent proof, met with the originals diligently: which, under our present we send ... in order to be able to minister their usual justice, affirming them with oath (...), signed by Marco Cicogna, Agustin Barbarigo and Benetto It will run on 21 March 1583 (the document was therefore drawn up about 6 years after Querini's request).
Therefore canonical text, according to Venetian chancery tradition, written in a highly elegant cursive hand and covered by a sumptuous binding, perfectly preserved.
