Specialist Notes
The Statutes of 1773-'75 testify and confirm the extraordinary richness of the Lombard legal culture of the late eighteenth century. Translated from Latin by Antonio Odescalchi, the work constitutes a precious historical document. In fact, it collects the customs that have regulated the civil life of the Lombards since the Middle Ages and organized, in the course of seven hundred years of scrupulous annotations, in a legislative corpus reasoned and built on the basis of the actual needs of order, security and justice of the people.
