Bulino, 1521, monogrammed and dated in plate, Meder 53a-b / d, 115 x 74 mm, reinforcements on the reverse, trimmed.
Specialist Notes
Excellent proof on paper without watermark, as Meder describes for all variants of this print. The legs of the saint seem to have the veil left on purpose during the printing phase, characteristic of the first variant. It is however printed before the scratches typical of the fourth variant, on the saint's sleeve. Vasari praised both versions of St. Chrysostom when he saw them.
