Rome, Antonio Bladi heirs, 1570. In 4th. Woodcut vignette with the coat of arms of Pope Pius V and the author's coat of arms on the reverse of the frontispiece, ornate woodcut initials, gap in the guard paper, several water gores at the margins, small gaps affecting the text at X1 and CC3, some papers with light browning, woodworm hole in the white inner margin of several files, coeval parchment binding with handwritten title on the spine, slight defects and some stains, gaps in the cap. Ex libris manuscript on the title page. § Together in the lot Rojas, Juan de. Singularia iuris in fauorem fidei, haeresisque detestationem, tractatus de haereticis, cum quinquaginta analyticis assertionibus, et priuilegijs inquisitorum. Venice, Francesco Ziletti, 1583. In 4th. Typographic mark on the title page, initials and woodcut friezes, first guard paper detached, rare marginal spots and blooms, some water gore, gap in the white lower margin of S3, the fascicles of Quaestiones XXV. [...] repeated twice in the text, coeval parchment binding with handwritten title on the spine, spots and slight defects.

Specialist Notes

A well-known manual that testifies to the inquisitorial practice of Piacenza and Pavia written by the Dominican Umberto Locati (1503 - 1587, Bishop of Bagnoregio, proposed here in its second edition. Compared to the first publication, 40 entries, 13 questions and 11 decrees issued between the & nbsp; 1556 and 1569.
