Etching and burin, 1759, III state of six, double circle and lily, mm. 735 x 520 the sheet, 410 x 552 mm on the imprint of the plate, signed lower right "G.B Piranesi Archit, incise", defects on the edges, some slight damp spots, central fold.

Specialist Notes

Work taken from the first edition of Roman Antiquities , published in Rome in 1756 in the Angelo Rotili printing house in Palazzo Massimo alle Colonne, by Messrs. Bouchard and Gravier, booksellers and merchants in Rome based in San Marcello al Corso .
