Venezia, Domenico Nicolini, 1591. In 2°.Marca tipografica al frontespizio e all'ultima carta, illustrazioni e diagrammi xilografici nel testo e a tutta pagina di cui 3 ripiegate (M4, Q4 e Q5), Q5 mancante per metà, fori di tarlo marginali sulle prime 2 carte con fastidio a 2 lettere sul frontespizio, difetti marginali della carta su Q2, lievi fioriture, legatura del secolo XVII in pergamena rigida, dorso a 5 nervi con autore e titolo manoscritti, qualche macchia e fori di tarlo. Timbro di appartenenza al frontespizio, firma alla carta di guardia: "Augusto Roos 1874".
Prima edizione italiana a cura di Antonio Gallucci, che aggiunge anche delle sue considerazioni sull’arte e sulla poesia. Wellcome I, 1920; Adams D-1055; Choulant 145: "The work embodies the first application of anthropometry to aesthetics, and is technically interesting because it contains the first attempts to represent shades and shadows in wood engraving by means of crosshatching".
