Lyon, François Le Fevre, 1587. In 8th. Editorial brand on the title page with the motto "Ad perpendiculum et normam", ornate woodcut initials, light burnishing, some old hand annotations, small ink stain on p8 and r1, some slight halo, coeval parchment binding with handwritten title on the spine, various spots, some defects. Signature of membership on paper insert on the title page and on the guard card.

Second edition of this treatise on the perfection of things & nbsp; written by Doge Nicolò Contarini (1553-1631) and divided into 6 books: the first deals with the nature of God, the second of the universe, the third of angels, the the fourth of matter and time, the fifth of the sky and the elements; and the last of man.
