Norinbergh [but Venice], for Ioseph Stamphier, 1619. In 12th. Small woodcut frieze on the title page, on paper B4 lacuna due to lack of paper with loss of a few letters, some small stains, a loose booklet, binding of a later period in hardcover, author and title in manuscripts on the spine.

Specialist Notes

First edition of the fierce quarrel between Marino and Gasparo Murtola, the Genoese poet secretary of the duke, which ended with an attempt on Marino's life and the death sentence of Murtola, who was later pardoned. They start with their own eye at c. D7r La Marineide, by Gasparo Murtola and on c. G10r The groomed to Tomaso Stigliani, by Andrea Barbazza. Vincent 2964.
