Florence, Giunta, 1568. In the 8th. Letterpress engraved in wood on the title page, another brand at the end, figured initials engraved in wood, reinforcement in the margin of the title page and of p. 15, light bluing, modern parchment binding.

Specialist Notes

Second edition exemplified on the original published in Siena in 1525 and dedicated by Jacopo Giunti to Giovanvittorio Soderini. This short tragedy consists of five acts, in loose hendecasyllables, the first, chronologically, of the modern classical tragedies. Rucellai (1475 - 1525) was a man of letters, son of Bernardo, who established the famous Orti Oricellari, and of Nannina de 'Medici, sister of Lorenzo the Magnificent. . Gamba 1625, notes.
