Paris, Nyon, Saugrain, Guillyn, 1764. In 12th. Woodcut frieze on the title page, woodcut headboards and ends, sporadic blooms and small marginal gaps, gap in the lower outer corner of the title page with a small tear, tear at f. Q7, small defects on the spine, original leather binding, gold friezes on the spine and leather gusset with gold title, red cuts. On the front counterplate ex libris with noble coat of arms.
First rare edition of this treatise on perfumes and cosmetics by the French chemist and distiller Antoine Hornot, on the title page with the name of Déjean, his pseudonym. The treatise describes odors, perfumes, essential oils, creams and other cosmetic products; following this first publication, the treatise had several other editions.
