Venice, G.Giolito Dè Ferrari, 1567. In 4th. Only the first part.  Large printer's mark on the title page and a smaller one at the end of the volume, elegant headers, capital letters and woodcut figurative friezes, burnishing, stains, halos, worm holes on the title page which do not damage the printing mirror and a little trimmed on the lower margin, on p. 522 lacuna, parchment binding with manuscript title, red spray cuts.

Elegant Giolitina edition of only the first part of Plutarch's work of the "Lives of the illustrious men" in the translation by Lodovico Domenichi. The first part includes 37 biographies and the life of the author described by Tommasi Porcacchi.
