A Paris, chez Claude Jombert, 1729. 4th, artistic frontispiece drawn and engraved on copper by J. B. Rigault; 6 parts in one volume pp. (16)-80; 64; 96; 104; 80; 80-(8) with 53 plates engraved on copper, 51 of which are folded. Specimen with uniform redness and some small worm holes. Leather binding, title and gold decorations on the spine. Rare original edition.

Bernard Forest de Belidor (1693 - 1761) mathematician and civil and military engineer, in this treatise summarizes the discoveries and technical innovations of previous centuries to which he combines his personal innovative reflections and the experiments resulting from his work in the field. The opening chapter of the work dedicated to Masonic theories on architecture is very interesting. Rare original edition.
