The Werden Psalter is a wonderful manuscript created in the imperial abbey of St. Ludger in Werden, Germany around the middle of the century. XI. Probably a gift for the Pope, it is a refined and sumptuous codex with 3 full-page miniatures and luxurious decorations on a purple background that combines the late Carolingian style with the Romanesque one.
