Specialist Notes

Beautiful reproduction of one hundred tables of drawings, in the sizes and colors of the originals, of one of the most famous Codex of the Ambrosiana Library, hand-drawn in 2030 numbered copies. The choice of the hundred tables, the approval of the reproductions and the captions are due to Giorgio Fubini, consultant of the Ambrosiana for the drawings. The text and description of the tables, as well as in Italian, is in French, English and German. The Codex Resta consists of 224 tables with 248 drawings, mostly Italian, in coeval binding. S. Resta (Milan 1635-Rome 1714), graduated in philosophy in Milan, in law in Pavia; canon of S. Nazaro, in 1655 he entered the Congregation of S. Filippo Neri in Rome, where he died in 1714.
