An 1866 model bolt action Chassepot rifle with two bayonets

Rifled barrel with foresight, adjustable rear sight, clutch for the bayonet, various marks including ‘1869’, ‘M’, ‘EM’, ‘C’ under crown, serial no. ‘E 32xxx’, 11 mm cal at the nozzle. Working sliding-revolving bolt, serial no. ‘P 67833. Marked with the imperial manufacture of Mutzig and the model. Wooden stock with stamp dated ‘1872 REPAR DE CHATEL.T’, on the other side of the butt another serial no. ‘E 77302’. Iron mounts and ramrod. Together with two bayonets, one is a socket bayonet (length: 53.5 cm) and the other model is a 1842 model (length:70 cm) complete with scabbard. This lot is imported from a non-EU country and incurs additional taxes beyond the auction house commission and the V.A.T. Consequently, the total Buyer’s Premium, inclusive of all taxes, amounts to 35%.
