Iron tsuba of the Kinai school of Echizen, Edo period, signed 越前住記内作 Echizen ju Kinai saku. Maru gata, kaku mimi, in sukashi with aoi leaves pattern (two leaves). In its (damaged) Kiri box. The aoi leaf is traditionally part of the Kamo clan, and during the Edo period became known thanks to the Tokugawa family. The Kinay family, probably related to the Miyochin school originally, was founded by Ishikawa Kinai who moved from Kyoto to Echizen at the beginning of the Edo period.
