A pair of cased percussion pistols by Donaghy in Amsterdam, Mid 19th Century

length 40 cm.
Octagonal, rifled, 12.4 mm cal. barrels signed in gold on the back "JOHN DONAGHY AMSTERDAM", provided with foresight, with remains of earlier browning. Breeches and tangs engraved with racemes, fixed rear sights. Forward spring locks engraved with racemes and signed "JOHN DONAGHY AMSTERDAM". Wooden half stocks (a couple of small cracks), provided with handles with fuller, raisers and carved with leaves in the front segment. Iron mounts. Trigger guards with finger supports. Working mechanism. In their case with plate on the lid with inscription and date 'Officieren Wedren LARENER-HOOGTE-SOCIETEIT 19 Augustus 1848'. Inside, a green cloth cover with various partly original tools such as the hammer, the bullet mold, the nipple wrenches, and others integrated later such as the colander and the flask. The two cylindrical slots of the old percussion locks are interesting.
